COMMUNITY

As well as keeping a productive garden, BOG provides a warm, friendly place for volunteers, school parties and members of the public attending our events.

We have a beautiful wooden “bower” which is BOG’s communal central point – it’s where we have tea and cake during the break on our volunteering mornings (Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am – 1pm). It’s where we lay on amazing teas on open days.

We’ve also built an earth oven where we can cook pizza and baked potatoes for members’ quarterly feasts, and to feed visitors on our open days.

When we have visitors, we put up the marquee to make sure there’s shelter from the sun (hopefully!) and, if necessary, the rain.
